All teachers have materials they don't need anymore - due to changes in teaching assignment - a change in grade level or subject, or just being packrats. Right?

We go into the teaching store for one specific thing, and find many things that might be the magic key to our students' understanding. We alslo find things that seem like they will make our job as a teacher easier. Right?

Bottm line - most of us have materials we don't need/use AND most of us are looking for something new. I had this idea that there are times that we could be trading and sharing our materials. Or - selling them to someone who will use them, rather than tossing them.

I'm not sure that this will work - but I would like to try providing this meetup.com site to find out. All you need to do is join (it's free and easy), and start using the message boards to post what you have to "get rid of" and what you are looking for. From there - it's up to you - meet to exchange materials, use the mail ... whatever works.

Also - use this message board to discuss materials you have used, or to get suggestions from ther teachers for great materials.
The key is that you need to forward this to other teachers you know. Even out of the area members can use the messgae board - and mailing materials is an option. It might be fun to have periodic meetups where we bring our unwanted materials for exchange/sale.
