The Lemon Ride Philadelphia (Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation)

Some Team Red members support fundraising rides in addition to the Tour de Cure and we post them here so members can get together for these rides.  Ride with your Team Red or Red Rider kits in a show of force to promote our cause - the fight against diabetes.

Go here to join Team Red in the 2013 Lemon Ride!

We will arrange meeting places at the locations based on the response to this announcement, so please include the mileage you would like to ride when you reply!

The Lemon Ride Philadelphia is a cycling event benefiting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) and the fight against childhood cancer.

Taking place in Doylestown, PA, the event invites cyclists of all calibers to contribute to the battle against childhood cancer. New for 2013, the Lemon Ride offers four different course ranging from a four mile Family Fun Ride to a 63 mile ride (a metric century) for more experienced cyclists.  All routes start and finish at Central Bucks West High School.

whew - that was a hot one! i ran out of water shortly after that cyclocross section. luckily there was a CVS. got 2 big bottles of water - filled up my bottles with one, dumped the other one on my head! boy did that feel good. ; )

I hope the 64 milers got back OK. I hung out until about 1:45, but had to take off. Hey Monika, did you make the ride? I was keeping an eye out for you, but having never met, that was a long shot. I was hoping you might spot the red rider jerseys. Anyway, if you were there, I hope you had a good ride.

i'm only doing 35, but i'll be there before 8:30 to see the 63 milers go. if we're all there at 8:30, we can probably all roll out together. i've not done this ride, so i don't know the best place to meet.

hey Charlie -- you did the lemon last year, right? any ideas where we should meet? i'm thinking 8:15? unless the folks riding less mileage don't want to get there till later. what do you think?

Well, it appears as if I missed the registration deadline. I was really pissed at myself, but it looks like I'll still be able to register on Sunday morning and ride - it's a little more, but it's going to another good cause.

Hey everyone, I only see Charlie registered to the Team Red team for the Lemon Ride. Are you all registered yet? Or did you have trouble Registering to Team Red? Or are you riding with another team (which is OK)? Just let me know. If you're having trouble registering to Team Red, I can get someone at the Lemon Ride to move you onto the team manually.

Hey Dan! I see you signed up for the Lemon Ride. I'll bring your coffee thermos that you left at the Tour de Cure.

    July 11, 2013

    • Dan J.

Thanks Kevin - greatly appreciated! Sorry it's been so long - the weeks seem to be passing pretty quick...

      July 11, 2013

    • Kevin H.

Yeah I know. I haven't had much riding time this year - busy with work this year. Sorry I couldn't get it out to you sooner, but I saw you RSVPd for this ride and I thought that'd be a good time to get ti to you.

Hey everyone, I created a Team Red Philly team for the Lemon Ride. Go here to register and join the team:

    http://www.alexslemonade.org/mypage/113799

It's $70 to register, no fundraising necessary, but they ask that you try to fundraise. You can also do $150 and get a Lemon Ride jersey, too - so the jersey id $80.

It may be confusing, the Lemon Ride site seems to confuse the team page w/ a personal page w/ an event. I tried to figure it out but I gave up. So I don't know how it'll look to someone who is joining the team. If you join, let me know what it looks like to you.

    Thanks,
    k
