We are a group of technical founders and programmers who are interested in joining or helping launch startups. Membership in this Meetup is for techies only.

The Setup

• We screen entrepreneurs, and choose three to five who are genuinely looking for a technical co-founder and have a promising company with real early-stage traction. This is a rigorous process: So far we have accepted fewer than half of all applicants.

The Rules

 So now that we've got three to five top-notch entrepreneurs and 50 or more programmers in one room, the event goes something like this:

• Each entrepreneur gives a 5-minute pitch about their venture.
• Five minutes of Q&A follow the pitch.
• We provide beer, food and some time to schmooze.

The Goals

• Help selected non-technical founders learn how technical people respond to their ideas and pitch.
• Help programmers who are considering being a technical co-founder evaluate great opportunities to join startups.
• Bring the best people together to continue building the NYC startup scene.
