June Tech & Social Change Baltimore Meetup: Wikipedia

Details

Searching for almost any topic on Google will likely result in a link to the topic on Wikipedia (http://www.wikipedia.org/), the collaboratively-edited encyclopedia written by volunteers, within the top several listings. In fact, with over 24 million articles (4.1 million in English), it's hard to find a topic that isn't covered in Wikipedia!

This month Dylan Kinnett (http://www.linkedin.com/in/dylankinnett), the Manager of Web and Social Media at The Walters Art Museum, and Dominic McDevitt-Parks (https://twitter.com/Dominic_MP), a member of Wikimedia DC (http://wikimediadc.org/wiki/Home), are joining us to introduce Wikipedia, teach us how nonprofit organizations can add information about their organizations and causes important to them, and discuss how The Walters has been using Wikipedia to fulfill its mission.
