Have you considered writing a book? The mechanics of transforming a finished PDF file into a paperback or kindle book on Amazon.com are straight forward and discussed in many books on publishing. What is not straight forward is the process of creating the PDF file - Developing your story, testing your story (before you start writing), creating a story board, working with photographers, illustrators, and editors, organizing your work for maximum ease of use, creating your website, networking, and building an audience for your book. This is the type of real-world advice that you won’t find in any book, blog post or article.

Our guest speaker, Malik Spencer, will share over 50 tips he learned the hard way during the publishing of his first book, ‘Navigating Love (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LBSO2AO/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00LBSO2AO&linkCode=as2&tag=electronicvillag&linkId=3RNBDGLDWL5X7BU4)’. Malik combines his interest in human nature, his passion for self expression, and his personal search for truth to explore everything we "know" intuitively but subconsciously "ignore" about relationships. He is a Latin dance instructor, public speaker, and software engineer in Cincinnati. He has taught dance workshops for The University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Children's Hospital, Closing the Health Gap, Mercy Health Partners, Salsa on the Square, and Toyota. Malik serves on the board of Know Theatre Cincinnati.

BDPA is pleased that Malik will share his expertise and wisdom with attendees of this meetup. Anyone ... regardless of race or color … interested in tech is welcome!
