From the sea change in how software is sold and delivered to the always-on power of cloud software, our guest speaker, Tim Oliver (GE Corporate), will look at why things are changing, where the dangers are and how moving to the cloud can mean real value and competitive advantage for those who make the jump. Tim will break down all the hype about everyone's favorite new tech lingo and explain what it actually means for your business.
We'll begin with history of how business software got started and where it's going. From Mainframes to PCs and then to smart phones, technology has changed the way we work at every generation. We’ll also talk about the current trend in computing: cloud (Google/iCloud/Dropbox) and containers (Docker/Kubernetes). The two are a match in cloud computing heaven and very relevant with large companies today.
