BDPA Presents:"How Electronic Medical Records Are Changing Healthcare Delivery"

Electronic Medical Records (EMR's) hold the promise of higher levels of quality in patient care, while reducing overhead costs related to communication of medical information. There are so many actors involved in the care of one patient – doctors, specialists, nurses, long term care facilities and home health - who typically don't work as closely as we would like to imagine in the delivery of care. An EMR system is the documentation of health history, containing notes by physicians, lab test results, medications, and personal information about a patient's medical past. With the passing of recent healthcare laws requiring the use of EMR's, the acceptance and implementation of EMR's by clinicians, has gone from a paltry 10% of healthcare facilities to 80% in less than 5 years.

Join us in this thrilling installment as our speaker, Robert (Bob) Morris, brings us a presentation on new possibilities with automated health records. As a Healthcare Consultant, Bob has worked on major hospital conversations from paper to electronic, and will share with us the nuances and new possibilities as the nation gets on board with this technology. He will also share some information about the incentives programs -"Meaningful Use" - currently key to the billions of dollars invested by the Federal Government to get EMR's more rapidly adopted by Hospitals and clinicians in various specialties.

In addition to working on EMR systems and Healthcare, Bob is serial entrepreneur with a partnership stake in several companies including EBooksion - a data conversion company that transforms books into e-books on a national scale; Ohio Loss Prevention Officer - a security and private investigation company and Morris Asset Ventures - which has varied portfolio including the purchase of tax liens/tax deeds, commodities such as gold, silver and oil, and recently, Executive Recruiting. In addition he sits on several boards both profit and non-profit and is an advisor/ investor in several small businesses.

A native Clevelander, Bob's diverse background includes 20 years as a private investigator and today works with the Bedford Heights Police Department, and he teaches self-defense classes on a semi/private basis.
