In this digital age of end-user friendly technologies, we should examine the process and expectations we have from "mentoring", as access to information and knowledge has changed in significant ways. Place this question in the adult mentor and high-school age mentee setting for example - What is it that you can teach anyone today, especially a young person, that they can't readily obtain from Facebook, YouTube, eBooks, google or yahoo?

As it turns out, mentors are still important for a variety of reasons, and may be even more so with the plethora of uses, rapid digital expansion, ubiquity of the internet and in many cases increased personal isolation.
