We are relaunching TechShock after a long hiatus. We are currently laying final touch on the list of speakers.
The meetup will be held in VG's auditorium, in Akersgata 55.
Simple food will be served.
Schedule:
• 18.00 - 18.30:
Damian Petla from Schibsted Tech Polska will share his experience on working with the Omni news app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.omni), a native Android app written 100% in Kotlin (https://kotlinlang.org/).
Damian started his career as Java Developer in 2006 and for the last 2 years he has been working with Kotlin. He will present how to set up Android a project from scratch, compare the developer experience with Java and share some general tips.
• 18.30 - 19.00:
Anders Brujordet from Schibsted will teach us about Spinnaker (http://www.spinnaker.io/). Spinnaker is an open source platform for managing microservices in the cloud. We will dive right in and look at an example pipelines and see what powers Spinnaker brings to the developers. Some hipster compliant buzzwords would be: continuous deployment, AWS, bakery, docker, kubernetes, gce, polyglot.
• 19.00 - 19.20:
Short break with some food and refreshments.
• 19.15 - 19.45
Andreas Søvik and Gustaf Dalemar from VG will give an introduction and update on the open source project Roc (https://github.com/rocjs/roc) and how it can be used to simplify building ambitious JavaScript applications.

After the meetup we'll walk down the street to Håndverkerstuene (http://www.hvks.no/) for a beer or two.
