If you’re interested in making games, join us on April 21st for our next event! Arthur Ward Jr., Caroline Sinders, Chris Algoo, Dennis Liaw, and Julia Keren-Detar will discuss game development. Want to work on games as a side project or eventually make games full-time? Either way, this panel is for you.

Doors open at 6:30PM. There will be networking time before and after the panel, which will begin around 6:50-7PM. Refreshments will be served.

About the panelists

Arthur Ward Jr. makes websites and games and is a Babycastles Meow/self-proclaimed master chef. He also created IdeaButt. You can find him at @edibletoaster on Twitter for his ramblings.

Caroline Sinders is an interaction designer, artist, researcher and videogame designer. She was born in New Orleans and is currently based in Brooklyn (and occasionally lives in airports). She has a masters degree from New York University's Interactive Telecommunications Program and a bachelor of fine arts in photography and imaging.

Chris Algoo and Dennis Liaw make games and run diversity-focused game jams with Brooklyn Gamery. Chris' work has won awards, was displayed in the Different Games Festival and briefly in an arcade cabinet. He’s a Brooklyn-born game developer, project manager and event organizer, currently working on Brooklyn Gamery’s first games. By fostering diversity with games and events, he hopes to make gaming more inclusive and more interesting.

Julia Keren-Detar is a game designer and developer based out of Brooklyn NY. Currently she is the creative lead for Untame, a husband and wife household studio. She is working on Mushroom 11 with Itay Keren, Simon Kono and Kara Kono, contributing to the game design. She's worked on several casual and indie titles including Untame's award-winning mobile game Rope Rescue and Arkadium's hit Facebook game Mahjongg Dimensions Blast. At Arkadium, she was a senior developer at the R&D department, prototyping and designing dozens of games. Julia is also an avid quilter and a hobby game historian.

Catt Small, 1/3 of Brooklyn Gamery and doer of a bunch of other stuff, will moderate the panel.
