The Growing Role of Tech in K-12 Education

Details

With August’s ed-tech demos & drinks being such a big hit, we thought you guys would be interested in a follow up event and hearing from a panel about how technology is revolutionizing education. We’ll be focusing on K-12 education, talking to innovators and teachers about how tech is improving (or maybe not improving) the classroom experience.

Our Moderator:

Jessi Chartier (https://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=27172243&authType=NAME_SEARCH&authToken=3vRE&locale=en_US&srchid=1148309471412801168455&srchindex=1&srchtotal=1&trk=vsrp_people_res_name&trkInfo=VSRPsearchId%3A1148309471412801168455%2CVSRPtargetId%3A27172243%2CVSRPcmpt%3Aprimary) of Mobile Makers Academy (http://www.mobilemakers.co/)

She has designed a competency-based (http://www.ed.gov/oii-news/competency-based-learning-or-personalized-learning) graduate program, helped institutions bring digital and distance learning to life, and is an advocate of all thing tech and education. As Director of Education at Mobile Makers Academy, which offers training in mobile development, Jessi applied her learning science expertise to develop Mobile Maker's first high school program. Seven high schools and more than 500 students are learning to develop iOS apps in the program's first year.
