Tech in Motion (http://www.techinmotionevents.com/) is proud to present "Going Green with Tech" where we will discuss what companies are doing to expand and innovate alternative resources and green initiatives.
We've all heard of the Environmental Movement pushing us towards a more environmentally friendly future. With technology's involvement, inventions that utilize solar energy, wind power, and electric cars have become the norm. Join as we further delve into this hot topic!
The night will start off with light food and free beer followed by our panel discussion and a short Q&A session.
Speakers:
Lynn Miller-CEO of 4GreenPs (http://www.4greenps.com/)
Prior to founding 4GreenPs (https://twitter.com/4GreenPs) in 2006, Lynn spent more than 20 years in sales, business development, PR and marketing communications positions in successful venture-backed tech start-ups and Fortune 500 firms. At 4GreenPs, Lynn works closely with clients to establish and implement results-driven marketing programs. She develops each client’s marketing program plan, serves as the primary client interface, and assembles virtual specialist teams to best meet each account’s unique needs.
An early adopter of innovative marketing strategies, Lynn developed one of the tech industry's first corporate SEO strategies in 1997, won the first Shorty Award for Best Green Content on Twitter, and launched one of the first green community blogs, which was named one of the top 50 in the US by Nielsen Media Research.
Lynn serves on the Board of the Independent PR Alliance, a section of the National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, as well as on the Board of Companies for Causes. She holds a BA from Lehigh University, an MA from the University of Paris I/ Sorbonne, and an MBA from Georgetown University. She is a recipient of the Lehigh University Alumni Award, the university’s most prestigious alumni honor for service to the university, community, and profession.
Matt Caywood- President of TransitScreen (http://transitscreen.com/)
Matt is a technologist and scientist with a passion for maps and transit. In 1997, he created the first, unofficial, online route planner for the London Underground. In 2011, he and colleagues from OpenPlans, Greater Greater Washington, and Arlington County Commuter Services created the Mobility Lab Transit Tech project, focused on improving online transit information tools. He launched TransitScreen (https://twitter.com/TransitScreen) in 2013 to bring the time saving convenience of real-time transit information to the public
Ed Peters- Senior Director of Architecture for Opower (http://opower.com/)
At Opower, our purpose is to engage the millions of people who are in the dark about their energy use. Ed coordinates technical design and strategy for our product teams, which use data analytics and behavioral science to produce customized print and digital communications for millions of utility customers worldwide every month. He also provides engineering support to a number of cross-functional teams working to unlock new business opportunities.
Moderator- Sen Zhang, V.P. Engineering of Greensmith Energy Management Systems (http://greensmith.us.com/)
As Vice President of Engineering, Sen leads all R&D, design, and production activities at Greensmith. He is the co-author on Greensmith’s patent for the Battery Operating System. With over 18 years of experience in software design and development, Sen has delivered ground-breaking technology products in Information System Design, Web Services, Cloud Computing, and Network Security.
He has previous start-up experience as Co-Founder and CEO of eXcentric Works, specializing in pure high-performance XML, Web Service and SOA solutions. He also worked with start-up Tarari Inc. and continued as Engineering Manager at LSI when they acquired Tatari in 2007 for $85 million. Sen holds two M.S. degrees in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University, and an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering Arizona State University.
