Join Tech in Motion DC for a cybersecurity panel discussion on Monday, April 27th at 6:30pm at 1776. Cybersecurity has been making headlines for quite some time, especially with the data breaches of Sony, Anthem, and Home Depot and more recently, the President's new sanctions program that targets overseas cyber attackers (http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/04/01/us-usa-cybersecurity-idUSKBN0MS4DZ20150401). For this discussion, our expert panelists will provide an in depth look at the growing cybersecurity industry and it's increasing importance.

Bob Stratton is a General Partner at MACH37 Cyber Accelerator. Bob comes to MACH37™ from Polymathics, a technology startup advisory and security strategy firm. He has previously served as Chief Strategy and Security Officer at WiTopia, Inc., as Director of Government Research at Symantec Research Labs, and was the first Director of Technology Assessment at In-Q-Tel. He has co-founded or served on the startup staff of several information security product and service companies including Security Design International and WheelGroup, where he co-developed the Security Posture Assessment™ methodology. Earlier, he established the security organization at UUNET Technologies, one of the first commercial Internet service providers.

Anup Ghosh, Ph.D., is Founder and CEO at Invincea. Prior to founding Invincea, he was a Program Manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) where he created and managed an extensive portfolio of cyber security programs.

He has previously held roles as Chief Scientist in the Center for Secure Information Systems at George Mason University and as Vice President of Research at Cigital, Inc. Anup has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles in cyber security journals.

He is a frequent on-air contributor to CNN, CNBC, NPR and Bloomberg TV. A number of major media outlets carry his commentaries on cyber security issues including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Forbes, Associated Press, FoxNews and USA Today.

He is currently a member of the Air Force Scientific Advisory Board and has served on the Naval Studies Board.

Tom Parker is the Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Security Services at FusionX. Tom is recognized throughout the security industry for his research in multiple areas including adversary profiling, industrial control systems security and software vulnerability research & analysis. Tom has published over four books on the topic of information security including Cyber Adversary Characterization - Auditing the Hacker Mind and a contributor to the popular Stealing the Network Series.

Jason Rivera is a professionally published and internationally experienced cyber, intelligence community, and military operations specialist who possesses over eight years innovating at the intersection of defense operations and technology. He is currently employed with Deloitte & Touche LLP where he is a member of the Threat Intelligence & Analytics practice. He specializes in the build out of cyber intelligence and cyber operations programs for both federal and commercial clients. Prior to Deloitte & Touche LLP, Jason served over six and a half years in the military as an Intelligence Officer where he attained the rank of Captain and served in various positions to include roles at the National Security Agency (NSA), United States Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM), and other cyber elements. In additional to his professional achievements, Jason is an established academic writer to include work published at the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence Small Wars Journal, and several other scholarly publishing forums.

Joshua Marpet is the CEO and founder of BiJoTi, a Mach37 Accelerated company. BiJoTi is cybersecurity for midmarket companies. Josh has presented at Defcon, Derbycon, Shmoocon, Black Hat, DoD/Cybercrime, ECTF, Infragard, and many other conferences. He is a former Senior Information Security Analyst for the Philadelphia Federal Reserve, and has been featured in Scientific American, Network World, InfoWeek, and many other publications.

Joshua’s background is varied, from Senior InfoSec Analyst, Blacksmith, Law Enforcement, Firefighter, and just about every childhood dream job except Astronaut. (But he's working on that!)
