Jennifer: Yes - another great recurring DC-area meetup is the DC TechBreakfast, next one is Feb 20 if you can make it (and wake up early ;)

Good time, but a very big lack of diversity in the crowd (90% hosts/10% techies). I'd like to see more focus on the actual mission statement of a segment on "interested in starting a startup," a segment on "partaking in the local tech community", and a segment on "networking with local techies," which would probably occur by allowing this folks to highlight themselves. Conceptually sound, Practice needs more meat.

"Diversity of Crowds" is a very key issue. As a tech entrepreneur, I cannot afford to come to a meeting with a lot of unknown. Tech fields are highly specialized now. I want to network with SBIR previous winners relating to tech development topics. I know how to get money to do tech development. But your challnage is to link people to enable trust and collaboration with technis who have certain background in physical scence or life science or both. I have a protocol to link people ahead of time with phone chat so that coming to a meeting like yours if really productive use of time. Tech Innovators Family Circle. Makes Sense ?

I'm game for a recurring meeting on Saturdays, but Fairfax is too far. Is there another recurring meetup in DC or on a metro?
