The Virtual Holographic Experience with Interactive 3D

  • December 4, 2013 · 6:00 PM

Please join Workbridge Associates and Jobspring Partners as we host our monthly Tech In Motion Event. The virtual-holographic experience remakes the computer interface as we know it by blending the physical world with a sensory-rich virtual world that people can naturally manipulate and navigate. Ever wonder how we can significantly advance the way we solve problems, learn, teach, and communicate?

Tech In Motion is excited to partner with zSpace in giving our members a chance to demo an interactive 3D environment for computing, creating, communication and entertainment. Our guests will get a chance to have a rich 3D experience, with objects appearing in open space in full color and high resolution and appear realistically solid and can be directly handled by using a stylus. The zSpace multi-sensory platform provides an exceedingly realistic way to view, manipulate, and communicate complex ideas. Tech and non-tech enthusiasts will be captivated by the zSpace display.

Everyone is welcome and don’t forget to bring a friend for a night of pizza, drinks, demos, and networking!

Agenda:

6:00 - 6:45: Pizza, Drinks, Networking, and Demos

6:45 - 8:15: zSpace Speakers: Software CTO - Doug Twilleager, Chief Design Officer – Carola Thompson, and zSpace CTO – David Chavez

8:15 - 9:00: More Networking!

Speakers:

Doug Twilleager, Software CTO. zSpace - A Revolutionary Way to Experience 3D Content.

This technical discussion will describe the components of zSpace and how to integrate them into your application. Doug has been building graphics software for 24 years. The majority of that time was spent at Sun Microsystems where he worked on graphics hardware simulators, graphics microcode, OpenGL drivers, as well as higher level software. He was a co-inventor of Java 3D and created the rendering and processing engine for Project Wonderland.

Carola Fellenz Thompson, Chief Design Officer. A Conversation on zSpace Application Design.

This is an interactive conversation about zSpace software application design, with a focus on UI things that can’t be done without 3D and lessons learned. Experts with experience, ideas or just a passion for great UI are welcome to share their own viewpoints and ideas. Carola has over fifteen years of experience in leading design teams, designing products and developing product strategies for a broad range of products and services. She is an accomplished speaker and author on Design, Innovation and User Experience Management.

David Chavez, CTO. The zSpace “Wow!” Factor – Why does it happen, and what’s the future?

David brings 20 years of experience in start-up companies, working with technologies ranging from GSM infrastructure to laptops, printers, PDAs and smartphones, in both consumer and commercial product spaces. He has managed product development teams through the full range of the product life cycle, from initial concept to volume production. David has extensive experience working with suppliers and manufacturing partners worldwide, with a particular emphasis in Asia. He has held various positions in product development organizations such as pen-based computer companies GO & EO, Hewlett Packard, and Handspring.
