Tech in MOTION-

This email is a reminder to all that the next Tech in Motion meeting will be this next Wednesday July 25th  starting at 6:00 P.M. The meetup will be taking place @

McCormick & Schmick's

2000 Main St, Irvine, CA.

McCormick does validate parking if you park in the garage attached to the restaurant.

The goal is to have some networking time and then we have a speaker who is going to start approximately 6:45 - 7:00 P.M.  There will also be a short Q and A session with Phil and then a short message from the organizers of Tech in Motion followed by additional networking time if anyone is interested.

Our speaker is Philip "Phil" Markgraf currently a Manager of R &D Software Engineering for the Yorba Linda, CA office of Carefusion  Carefusion is a top ten U.S. based Medical Device company in terms of global annual sales.  He is going to be speaking about Extreme Programming "XP".

Phil became involved in Agile Development Practices in the late 1990s and received training from Extreme Programming Pioneers Kent Beck, Ron Jeffries and Robert “Uncle Bob” Martin.

Phil has championed the use of Extreme Programming methodologies in his environment and has been able to bring extreme programming to the full 20+ person software engineering team.  Phil will be presenting about extreme programming, what it is, the various parts of it, and how he has gotten it humming in the FDA-regulated "medical device" product development environment (embedded C++) .  He has had lots of practice selling and educating about what the benefits of XP are internally and has a lot to talk about.

The link for RSVPing for the event can be found here

The long term goal of Tech in Motion: OC is to help facilitate a sense of community amongst tech professionals in the greater Orange County area.  There is more variety of tech industry from a product standpoint in Orange County, CA than anywhere in the world and just because we are a metropolitan area and not a city should not mean that industry cannot benefit from a shared identity and a forum in which to network.

Any questions please feel free to call Brittani Allred @[masked] or Elizabeth Clark at[masked]
