Collaborative Living Demo Night

The folks over at The Burroughes have been awesome enough to sponsor their gorgeous event space (including a rooftop patio!) for our fourth @Tech_in_Motion! We're holding another demo night, this time based around the idea of collaborative living and working. Come have a drink and food on us, and check out some awesome new companies. The Toronto Tool Library is even bringing a 3D printer to play with!

Upverter is the best place to share hardware design with friends, co-workers, classmates, and complete strangers. The schematics and PCB layout editor runs natively in a browser. We added collaboration to hardware design. Think about Google Docs. Upverter syncs the changes on your design as they happen and enables you jump to any point in time. Upverter is the perfect tool to design better hardware, faster.

CLAYZA is a professional platform for people in creative industries. Showcase your portfolio, tag people you’ve worked with and even manage your freelance projects from a single dashboard. The platform was founded by Neil Martin, Jeffrey Howard and Rares Crisan, the founders of Project: RHINO, a coworking space at the corner of King and Bathurst. CLAYZA will be soft launching during the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. Check out the page here.

CitizenBridge is a not-for-profit civic engagement organization that created Democracy 2.0 - a platform which allows Canadians and their Elected Representatives to have a conversation about the issues at the Federal, Provincial, and Municipal levels of government.  It was built by eight passionate people (in their spare time, and with no budget) with the goal of modernizing how Canadians engage with their Government.

Be an active participant with your government...not a passive observer of your government.

The Toronto Tool Library is a dynamic community hub where tools, once stored in basements and garages gathering dust, are released from their captivity to realize their full potential. It's simple. Instead of a community buying 10 tools, we use 1 tool 10 times. Tool Libraries are just like book libraries! No rentals, just loans. We encourage sharing and collaboration through skill sharing, workshops and access to community knowledge. Our first location is open in Parkdale, and our second location in Danforth East will open in early October 2013 with a full wood working shop, 3D printer and more! This is about access over ownership.
