We are Threshold Passages, Inc., a Colorado 501c3 non-profit, non-sectarian organization. We do group mentoring with teenage boys. Our mission: mentor our boys into the wild variety of ways to become a mature man. We have a lot of fun doing it, and our mentors find it exhilarating and fulfilling, not draining or boring. You'll find only a small number of TPI mentors here because this is a "portal" for the general public to find out about us. Our main networking, scheduling, etc. is done through our private Yahoo group. We are over 100 mentors strong in Colorado and affiliated with the international boys to men mentoring network.
We offer a variety of ways to meetup with us, to check us out, to join us at any level of involvement, or to do an intense weekend training on how to be a mentor by tapping into and finding acceptance of your own teenage fire.
We also do an intensive, amazing Rites of Passage Adventure Weekend (RPAW) for teenage boys ages 12-17 each August. Because we're nonprofit and volunteer-based, everything is either free or extremely cheap to take part in. We have never turned away boys or men for lack of money.
Check out our calendar and sign up early for an "open" LaserTag night and run around like a crazed teenager with no apologies. Boys trust men who know how to play.
Sign up for an intense and powerful mentor training to go deep into the heart of what it's like to mentor teens in a good way.

Here's the Top 10 reasons why TPI has been so successful since 2003:
1. We use a group mentoring format which is fun, supportive, and a lot more flexible for men with busy lives and difficulty committing regularly.
2. We mix fun stuff like lasertag, go karts, movies, etc., with serious supportive group stuff and exercises that we've been doing for years with great results.
3. We make it very safe by using the group format and also requiring background checks on men who choose to become mentors with us.
4. We make it easy for boys, parents, and mentors to check us out through "open JGroup" nights and trainings that men can do without any big commitment.
5. As a nonprofit, we have always been a shoestring organization, very passionate about what we do but keeping things lean and never letting money get in the way for men or boys who want to join us.
6. We have boys and mentors who've been with us for years because what we do is so awesome and so needed! Dads can take part too!
7. Men who join us are supported and helped along the way by other men who have been doing this work for a long time: we mentor our mentors and work together as a group.
8. We welcome men and boys of all backgrounds, regardless of race, religion, politics, sexual orientation, or other things that create cliques in high school. Men and boys who show up with us are honored and respected for who they are!
9. We don't allow boys to join us when they've been sent by their parents or schools to be "fixed." We welcome boys who want what we have to offer and want to be with us.
10. We do a powerful initiation weekend in August for boys age 12-17, and then a year of mentoring, every other Tuesday night. Boys and men can come and go as it serves them. There are always enough to do our group each time we meet.
If ever you wanted to know how to be a better man and a better father, there may be no better way to learn than to become really good at connecting with boys in a healthy way--and connecting with the boy you once were.
We come from all walks of life at TPI. This may be the best group you've ever been connected with.
