Thai Songkran Festival 2012!
Based on some of our past experiences at this annual event, this is an interesting experience & delicious food! There will be many meetup groups going.
The website for Wat Thai is here: http://www.watthaidc.org/
See the announcement here: http://www.watthaidc.org/watdc2012/index.php
The festival's schedule for the day will be posted later. Any time is a great time to go, but there are also scheduled activities & presentations. There are grassy areas off to the side where people spread out blankets and have picnics.
Some people may need rides... update if you can offer a ride, or if you need a ride. The closest metro station is Glenmont
How to get there & park & find us: Lots of people wind up parking in the local streets, and here is what the entrance looks like from Layhill Road to the side streets - street view - click here. (Red Line).
Keep going north on Layhill Road, and the location is on the left (west) side, as shown in this street view:
We'll meet near the circle - at the steps in front of the temple - and the circle is showing in the center of this satellite view: click here for view.
