The Museum of Extraordinary Things - Alice Hoffman

Mesmerizing and illuminating, Alice Hoffman’s The Museum of Extraordinary Things is the story of an electric and impassioned love between two vastly different souls in New York during the volatile first decades of the twentieth century.

Coralie Sardie is the daughter of the sinister impresario behind The Museum of Extraordinary Things, a Coney Island boardwalk freak show that thrills the masses. An exceptional swimmer, Coralie appears as the Mermaid in her father’s “museum,” alongside performers like the Wolfman, the Butterfly Girl, and a one-hundred-year-old turtle. One night Coralie stumbles upon a striking young man taking pictures of moonlit trees in the woods off the Hudson River.

I'm sorry to cancel so last minute but I'm stuck at work.

All - we normally ask for a $2 charge to attend meetings (it helps cover the cost of the fees for this site.). I forgot to edit the meeting to show the cover charge. If you don't have the money - no problem, but if you can provide $2 tonight, I would greatly appreciate it.

It doesn't change my inclination to come or not, but as a new member that was naive about how Meetup group dues work, I think it would be beneficial to just advertise the cover charge on the home page somewhere and not just with each event. More transparent that way.
