Subject: Senate vote on Perez, the radical, today!

Mathew Staver, Chairman
Liberty Counsel Action

There is a critical vote in a Senate committee taking place today on Thomas Perez, a man who has been called the “most extreme cabinet nominee in the last seventy years.”
No one President Obama has advanced to candidacy for Senate confirmation is more of a committed socialist change-agent than Thomas Perez, the nominee for the position of Secretary of Labor.
This vote requires immediate action!  Please, fax the Senate and demand Thomas Perez’s nomination be rejected in no uncertain terms!
With a simple click, Liberty Counsel Action, on your behalf, will send personalized faxes to key members of the Senate including your two Ohio lawmakers, and members of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, demanding opposition to Thomas Perez’ confirmation.  Go here now to schedule your personalized faxes for immediate delivery at this critical time:

I am urging all members of the Liberty Counsel Action team to
take immediate action with me to stop the Perez nomination before it gains any momentum.  For more information on Thomas Perez, the radical, see my message below from yesterday – Mat.

Thomas Perez’s tenure at the Department of Justice has fostered allegations of corruption, racism, unscrupulous tactics, and radicalism.

This nomination is all the more alarming because under ObamaCare, the Secretary of Labor will be in large part responsible for enforcing the outrageous “Employer Mandate” in American business and industry!

Frankly, I have wondered why Mr. Obama felt Perez was qualified to become our next Secretary of Labor.  But while preparing for Liberty Counsel’s upcoming hearing against ObamaCare at the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, I realized that the office of Secretary of Labor is about to get unprecedented power if ObamaCare is fully implemented.

Under the “Individual Mandate” in ObamaCare, the IRS is solely responsible for enforcing what the Supreme Court deemed to be tax payments.  But under the “Employer Mandate,” the Department of Labor shares that responsibility with the IRS!

No wonder Mr. Obama chose this proven sycophant who is more than willing to place the Obama political agenda above forthright administration of the law!  Mark my words:  This nomination is a disaster for American business!

++Investigators have been shocked at what Perez is willing to do.

Just days ago, Republican Senators released a scathing 63-page investigative report sharply criticizing Perez over an outlandish deal he brokered while serving under Attorney General Eric Holder.

As Fox News reports…
“The GOP lawmakers accuse Perez of misusing his power last year to persuade the city of St. Paul, Minnesota, to withdraw a housing discrimination case before it could be heard by the Supreme Court. In exchange, the Justice Department agreed not to intervene in two whistle-blower cases against St. Paul that could have won up to $200 million for taxpayers.
‘This offer was inappropriate and potentially violated Perez's duty of loyalty to his client, the United States,’ said the report from Iowa Senator Charles Grassley, California Representative Darrell Issa, and Virginia Representative Bob Goodlatte.”

Cecelia, this is a man whose troubling record at the U.S. Department of Justice has thoroughly exposed his racial agenda and socialist political philosophy.  His obvious disregard for equality under the law would spell disaster for a nation struggling to regain economic stability should he be confirmed.

++Perez’ performance in committee has been alarming.

Last Thursday, the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions grilled Perez on the troubling Minnesota deal and a number of other highly controversial situations Perez has been involved in as the head of the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice.

Senator Lamar Alexander accused Perez of doing “an extraordinary amount of wheeling and dealing.”  In a terse confrontation during Alexander’s questioning, the Senator said this…

"It seems to me that you’re manipulating the legal process to try to get the result you want…”

Today, that committee will vote on the Perez nomination!

Liberty-loving Americans need to strongly challenge the Perez confirmation to be Secretary of Labor – demanding that the Senate reject what Rush Limbaugh calls, “the most radical leftist Obama has ever nominated to his cabinet.”

Go here now and tell lawmakers to reject Thomas Perez:

++Perez has a long history of highly questionable actions.
An Inspector General (IG) report on the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division, which Perez heads as an Assistant Attorney General, found that he interpreted voting protection laws “to not cover white citizens.”

If Perez is somehow confirmed, he would actually be in charge of overseeing compliance with workplace regulations and non-discrimination laws!

According to J. Christian Adams, who worked for Perez at the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division, “People like Perez are very skillful at creatively ignoring the law to suit their own ends.”

Even the left-of-center Politico website has raised concerns over Perez’s handling of the New Black Panther case, faulting him for “giving misleading public testimony in 2010.”

++Liberty Counsel has had our own run-ins with Thomas Perez.

The House Committee on the Judiciary, while holding a hearing on “Mismanagement at the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice” under Thomas Perez, invited Liberty Counsel’s Senior Litigation Counsel, Harry Mihet, to testify on this troubling subject based on an alarming situation Mihet experienced with Perez in 2010.

Mr. Mihet was the lead attorney in Liberty Counsel’s successful defense of Susan Pine, a Florida pro-life woman who endured a two-year baseless and politically motivated prosecution by the DOJ, under the leadership of Thomas E. Perez.

In his testimony, Harry told Congress…

“The Department of Justice has apparently forgotten its name and that its purpose is to pursue justice and protect civil rights, not unconstitutional, groundless claims manufactured by abortion clinics to intimidate and silence pro-life Americans.”

++This is an “in your face” nomination by a smug President.

The opportunities to confront Barack Obama’s radical agenda seem to be never ending!  Perez is a radical’s radical and this travesty must be stopped!

Go here now and tell lawmakers to reject Thomas Perez:

Thank you in advance for taking this important action with us!
