Qigong, literally translated from Chinese as energy work/discipline, encompasses a wide variety of traditional cultivation practices that involve methods of accumulating, circulating, and working with qi (chi), or energy, in the body. It is widely practiced in the Orient for health maintenance purposes, as a therapeutic intervention, as a spiritual path, and/or as a component of various martial arts (such as Tai Chi Chuan).
Pragmatically speaking, qigong can be described set of exercises which combines a particular breathing style, posture, and mental focus. These exercises improve circulation, breathing, posture, flexibility and balance, while increasing concentration and reducing stress.
The purpose of The Atlanta Qigong Meetup Group is to provide an experiential qigong forum for the Greater Atlanta area to introduce and expose this ancient yet effective practice for those with no experience, as well as for the experienced practicians alike.

This is a try by doing event. So show up wearing loose/comfortable clothing and flat soled shoes that won't slide around a lot. Beginners and qigong practitioners alike are welcome.
We start at 7:30pm but you may arrive between then and 7:00pm to get settled and ask questions. The qigong practice will take approximately 1 - 1.5 hours. Read more
