Austin and its tech industry is growing.  So is the C/C++ Meetup (...not to mention the C++ ISO specification :-P)

This new monthly event adds to our existing C and C++ pub social that has been running continuously in North Austin for over 5 years!  One key purpose is to offer a new time and location for those who can't conveniently make it to our North event.  Since that is always the 3rd Monday, the South Austin meetup will be during the first week of the month.  We'll either have it regularly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays...or perhaps rotate. 

A second purpose of a new meetup on the schedule is to address a slightly different need.  This event leans a little more toward career networking and development.  Of course, if you put enough C and C++ programmers in a room there's no way to stop coding conversations...nor should we.  But to lend the event a slightly different character, I'm going to be inviting some non-member recruiters and employers (they often contact the group) to join us.

Please Note: programmers don't have to be unemployed or underemployed to attend.  You can be perfectly happy where you are, and just want to share perspectives and perceptions of what makes a good and bad job, or listen to what others are facing in the industry.  Or just want to talk C++ but the North meetup isn't convenient...
