My language of choice is actually Perl. It is insane what you can do with that language. I have spent years programming C and C++, but lately I like C# due to its ease of programming and structure. If only C# wasn't an IL. My most recent non-work programming language is Java for online HTML5 games.
I have been programming most of my life. My first experiences were just copying code out of books. For a while in high school I spent my time hacking games on the BBS's (back in the days of dial-up) and working on BBS text based MUDs. Learned assembler on the C64, and then Pascal on the 8086. However, officially I starting programming for actual pay 15 years ago.
I have been programming as long as I can remember. My first programming experiences with the CVic20 out of desperation of having only 2 games to play. Unfortunately I am still programming Basic 30+ years later with VBA.
