Announcing a new Meetup for The Baltimore Area Triathlon Club Meetup!

What: Sunday Run with Optional Bike

When: April 19,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: The Baltimore Area Triathlon club will hold its weekly run at 8am Sunday, Cromwell Valley Park, Willow Grove entrance (2nd park entrance from the Beltway). The weather should be good on Sunday. Bring your road bike and we'll ride through Loch Raven thereafter.

If you are joining us for the first time here are the particulars;

Mike leads the runs and we run for about 75-90 minutes as a loosely held together group. Most of our running is done on the trails, but we venture out onto Loch Raven Drive at times, too. The pace is not rocket fast, and any folks that wander off the front regularly wait up and rejoin the pack at the tops of hills, major turns, etc.. NOBODY GETS LEFT BEHIND. There are options for shorter runs should you want such a thing. There are also options for running on the road/Loch Raven Drive if desired. If you can't stand waiting around for the rest of the group, this is probably not the run for you.

Trail running shoes are not required (in fact most people seem to prefer their road shoes on the trails). If the trails are wet your shoes will get muddy, and if your stream jumping skills aren't up to par, they may get a little wet, too. The goal of our runs is to have fun, get in an aerobic workout, and hang out with our friends. Please feel free to join us regardless of club affiliation.

If you normally only run on the roads, you are in for a treat as the trails are way easier on the joints than paved surfaces, however the hills are steeper than encountered on the roads. We do run a lot of hills.

Directions: Take the Baltimore Beltway (695) to exit 29A, Cromwell Valley Road. Head North (Left) about 1.5 miles until you see the WILLOW GROVE entrance for Cromwell Valley park. It is the 2nd park Entrance. Do not take the first park entrance (Sherwood Farm), take the 2nd entrance called Willow Grove. Follow the road to the parking lot across the little bridge.

We leave at 8:00, but usually wait to around 8:10 for stragglers if we know they're coming. If it is raining or snowing, the run is cancelled.
