Earthsave Baltimore E-News April Update: Earth Friendly Food Choices

Hi Meetup Member,

Here?s some info on healthier eating that I thought you might like to have, and a reminder that I?ll be leading a free one-hour workshop at Whole Foods grocery in Mt. Washington this Tuesday, April 7th at 7 pm in the caf?. The Whole Foods classes are always very casual, informative and fun. Hope you will join us!

I also wanted to remind you that tickets are available online or by mail for Earthsave?s special, annual Earth Friendly Food Choices speaking event, which is set for May 24th at the Women?s Club of Catonsville. It will feature two wonderful talks, including one by musician/ philosopher/educator /Zen Buddhist Master Dr. Will Tuttle, and one by Earthsave?s executive director Caryn Hartglass. It will be a special evening. Please join us if you can!

Just one more thing - Facebook offers folks a real nice opportunity to learn more about each other and to discover how much alike we are. It?s a great way to make new friends, to strengthen our existing relationships, and to build a network of friendly, supportive people.

FREE VEG LIFESTYLE CLASS AT WHOLE FOODS IN MT. WASHINGTON: On Tuesday, April 7th at 7 pm, Whole Foods grocery will offer, in the caf?, the free class ?A Menu of Love: The Vegetarian Lifestyle Class.? Don Robertson will address some of the most common questions, misperceptions, and challenges that arise with regard to a adopting a plant centered diet. As founding director of the nonprofit group Earthsave Baltimore, Don has organized the monthly Veg Dinner Lecture Series for 12 years. He also leads the Baltimore Vegetarian and Baltimore Vegan Meetup discussion groups. This talk will support you in making healthier, earth-friendly food choices. Space is limited. EARTHSAVE BALTIMORE VEG DINNER SERIES will host a potluck dinner featuring a talk on AYURVEDIC MEDICINE by SUSAN WEIS. Susan Weis, proprietress of breathe books, began practicing Ayurveda in July, 2007. She rapidly shed 45 pounds and 80 points off her cholesterol. In short order, all the clutter in her life began to disappear, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. After studying and practicing Ayurveda for a year, she was certified as an Ayurvedic Instructor through the Chopra Center, and now teaches a five-week class at her store throughout the year.

Caryn will help us all to wake up to what is happening to our world, and will share some ideas of what we can do to help turn things around. Caryn earned a Masters degree in chemical engineering at Bucknell University, and worked in the semiconductor industry. In addition to her role as Executive Director of ESI, and is the founder and Director of the Earthsave NYC chapter and is the creator of Earthsave TV online video series, GOING GREEN WITH CARYN HARTGLASS. She is also an accomplished semiprofessional singer and actress in musicals and opera.
