Baltimore GiveCamp - Charity Hackathon

Baltimore GiveCamp - Charity Hackathon

Details

The Baltimore GiveCamp is a weekend-long charity hackathon where Developers, Designers, Team Leads and Project Managers come together and donate a weekend (or portion of their weekend; you don't have to come the entire time!) of their time towards "making technical dreams a reality" for local non-profits. This is our 3rd GiveCamp, and we're helping a total of 28 non-profits, several of which are using WordPress (i.e. Special Olympics of Howard County, Haiti in Transition, Alternative Directions, and My Pillow Pack).

Over the last 2 years, the event has helped about 40 non-profits, and saved them over $500,000 in technology and resource costs (non-profits associated with GiveCamp get free hosting and other tech perks from different tech vendors).

The event will kick off Friday night around 6pm at UMBC's Technology Building, and wrap up Sunday afternoon around 3/4pm. Food, drinks and caffeine will be provided for volunteers all weekend! If you register via the GC site by October 1st, you'll also get a t-shirt.

If you're interested in volunteering, please register via the www.baltimoregivecamp.org site! We need any volunteers to register please! Also, if you're interested in helping one of the non-profits mentioned above, note that in your registration and we'll happily assign you to that team!
