The Bay Area Clojure User Group Early/SF Monthly Meetup

Peter Christensen will take us through his experiences with Leiningen 2, nREPL etc as a way to kick off 2013 with a good discussion around the state of the union in Clojure tooling. Peter has worked with SBCL, Emacs and SLIME in the past and enjoys Clojure as an adjunct to his day job which is based on Rails and JavaScript.

Peter worked at Groupon for a while and recently moved to the Bay Area so I hope we'll give him a warm welcome on January 3rd!

Note that we are back at our regular location of The Climate Corporation on 3rd Street this time.

    Hello Everyone,

I wanted to take a moment and thank you and your group for coming to the Clojure meet up at our office last Thursday. We hope you all had as much fun as we did at the event. A special thanks goes out to the organizers and speakers as well.

Feel free to pass around our jobs page to anyone that might be interested.

Great reason’s to work at Climate:
•Cool workspace including ping-pong tables, nap room to chill out, video games etc!
•“3-On 1-Off” Sprints. That means that 25% of your time is spent working on your own innovations for the company.
•Catered lunch 5 days a week from a varied array of San Francisco eateries.
    •An always-stocked kegerator.
•Energetic idea-driven work environment with an exciting culture
    •Weekly 15 minutes chair massages
    •Exciting world-changing opportunity

Thanks again for joining us and we look forward to having you all back again next month!

    Cheers, Crea

Where do you recommend we part?

Any chance if free parking somewhere?

Dan, you should be able to park on the street pretty close. I recommend parking to the east of Climate Corp cause that will be a little easier. 3rd Street itself is not so good. The city stops enforcing meters at 6 pm, so the parking will be free. If you'd rather be in a garage, there's a pay garage on 3rd between Folsom and Howard on the right hand side. Hope that helps,

    Thanks Peter and Sean.

I am planning to attend this and will be more than happy to answer any questions that about nrepl.el that people may have. I am not 100% sure I'll be around that day (right now it looks like yes).

Also, I could do something at a future meetup related to nrepl.el if there is interest.

Hi Tim! Thanx! We'd love to have you do a follow-up presentation on nREPL - there was certainly quite a bit of interest shown in the survey. I think there are several areas of tooling and debugging that will warrant separate talks and discussions. Hope you can make Jan 3rd!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
