The Bay Area Lean Software Development User Group July Meetup

This location is shown only to members

This time around, the theme is "Lean for Scrum Users". (This will be a recurring theme, I suspect.) It should be especially useful for those looking to get started with Lean ideas on their projects....

The agenda -

  • Chris Sims: "An Hour of Lean/Agile Learning Games"
  • Sharing: Experienced lean folks share stories/ideas they've used and seen on their projects

Runa.com will again sponsor snacks (pizza and soda)... and remember, the location is 2 blocks from El Camino (there is another similar address 2 miles or so away).

Here's some info from Chris about his session:

Workshop Description
------------------------------------
In this workshop we'll be diving headlong into Lean/Agile practices by engaging in a simulation exercise that lets you learn by doing. As a team, we're going to launch a fictitious aerospace company, build and ship product, run financials and apply lean principles, particularly Kanban. We'll look at different approaches to optimizing multi-stage processes and engage in some team problem solving.

Time permitting, we will play a few other learning games as well. Join us; It's going to be a lot of fun.

Wish I could come but I will be way deep in the Sierras. I look forward to seeing you again at the August meetup.

I liked the size of this, small enough to foster engaging conversation. I really enjoyed Chris' learning game on TOC. Amit does a good job keeping this a low ceremony and highly interactive.
