Who: Parents with preschool to early elementary-age children (primarily age 4-8, but older and younger welcome)
What: Exploration... outside playtime... park play... nature walks... museums, zoos, aquariums... farms... beaches... redwoods... nature classes... etc... there are so many activities for our children to enjoy here in the Bay Area!
When: Varies. Both weekdays and weekends.
Where: Outdoor, nature-oriented locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area (primarily the East Bay, but with other outings to Silicon Valley, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, and Marin areas)
Why: To nurture a lifelong love of nature through fun, hands-on experiences, exploration, play, and education
Also, as stated by Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder, in the introduction to Jennifer Ward's book, I Love Dirt!, "study after study indicates time outdoors in a natural setting is not simply a nice-to-have activity. It is a vital element for healthy childhood development."
And, well, it's simply fun to get outside and play!!
Nature Time! is a member of Richard Louv's Children & Nature Network,"building a movement to reconnect children and nature."
Additional Resource: I also write a blog, A Nature Mom ( ANatureMom.com ) about getting out and about in the Bay Area for outdoor play and nature exploration. Check it out and subscribe to receive tips and inspiration via e-mail.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
