I created The Beating Social Anxiety Together Group for people like me who have social anxiety. I have had social anxiety for 12 years. I have tried CBT therapy, Hypnosis, Self Help Groups and Medication, but I have still not been able to get over my social anxiety. I felt that the groups that I visited were of no help to me because many of the people within the groups did not have social anxiety. The groups were also very large and with me having severe social anxiety I found it very intimidating. For this reason I have formed this group strictly for people with social anxiety. This is a group where we can socialise, talk about our conditions, and support each other to overcome our fears.

We arrange regular social events for people who experience social anxiety. This could be anything from a walk in the park, going out for a coffee, going to the pub etc. The idea is for us to confront our fears and to support each other as we face them. We also arrange occasional social events where all group members can come along like clubbing or paint balling.

Anyone is welcome to join The Beating Social Anxiety Together Group (as long as you have social anxiety). Any age, sex, race, or religion are welcome to join. Meetings are free however donations are welcome. Group members only need to pay for themselves for any places that we visit together. My social life has pretty much gone to nothing due to my social anxiety, and I am sure that I can’t be the only one out there! Let’s meet up, become friends, build our social lives, and try and combat our fears together. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

"Hi Jade, Thx for reply, Hyde park would be nice, could bring a Frisbee etc, perhaps you could flag it up? I live in Kingston so going to the grove is a distance - over an hour on the bus with traffic and not the best of journeys for someone with SA."
