Where do you do most of your singing? (the shower, in the car, while cooking, the karaoke bar, in my head -- if I sang out loud someone might hear me!)

At home, in the car. I always have a song in my head. I sometimes go the Sea Chantey sing on the Balclutha. You should try it out if you haven't before. I went last weekend, and that's what inspired me to find more people to sing with.

What other kinds of singing classes have you taken? Have you sung in a chorus before? Were these good experiences?

I've taken a couple of 10-week harmony classes. The teacher taught us parts and we sang them together. It was fun. I'm hoping to learn more about HOW to sing harmony and to train my ear to hear the different parts and how they work together.

Do you play any other musical instruments? What have you always wanted to play, but haven't?

I play a little guitar, and I played the trumpet when I was in school. I used to want to play piano. I'd love to try drums.

Which song or poem has been going through your head as you're typing this?

Doe, a Deer, since it was on your web site. Also Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb, because I just heard it on the radio.

I'm David Doneff. I'm an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher in San Mateo. I live in Oakland, and I love harmony!

What David D. is saying about this Meetup Group

I love this group. As a teacher myself, I can attest that Michele is a terrific teacher. She makes the class fun and educational at the same time, and that is rare. I can go into the class after a tough day and always feel better when we're done. The other members of the group help with that. We all have a great time together, and everyone is really supportive. And then there's the harmony; when we get it right it's its own reward.
