Active members' meeting

Details

This is a meeting for members who want to have a greater input on the events of the Birmingham History Network and in particular those who are interested in preparing a talk. Everyone is welcome, regardless of their level of experience or previous expertise.

Apart of discussing new ideas, Ben will talk us through his thesis: "The Apotheosis of St Thomas Aquinus: A discorse on space, time and location" (a study of a 17th century altar piece). We will also have a chance to hear more about the family of the Smallbrokes, a tale of rags to riches in Tudor Birmingham, Marie's field of expertise. Both studies deal with the 17th century and as we might present both to a larger audience in one event, we will discuss common themes in this meeting. There is scope for a mini project comparing Birmingham and Seville in the 17th century and to present a short introduction of approximately five minutes at the later public event.

I am looking forward to see many of you at the next active members' meeting :-).
