The North Country Trail, what's new in MN, ND, and WI

Come out and learn more about the development of the North Country National Scenic Trail (NCT) (http://northcountrytrail.org/) in our Upper Midwest area. Significant strides forward have occurred in the last couple of years on connecting this 4,600-mile long hiking trail and more strides will be made in 2012 thanks to our amazing volunteers. Specifics include the Arrowhead Re-route legislative effort (which would include the Superior Hiking Trail (http://www.shta.org/), Border Route Trail (http://www.borderroutetrail.org/), and Kekekabic Trail (http://www.kek.org/) as part of the NCT's route); a significant trail improvement program within the Chippewa National Forest in north-central Minnesota; and new trail development projects in southeastern North Dakota, northwestern Minnesota, and in northern Wisconsin.
