CLOUD PERFORMANCE AND COST OPTIMIZATION
Industry experts will discuss best practices and techniques for continual optimization of performance and cost associated with cloud environments. There is a growing challenge for large scale cloud users to understand the optimal types of cloud resources required from a performance perspective in order to address business priorities. Additionally, customers are challenged with understanding the optimal cloud resources to purchase based on historical trended usage, vendor pricing options, and business objectives.
This panel will discuss these issues and the growing complexity across a range of cloud environments.
Panelists:
Jason Fuller, serves as Head of Pega Cloud Service Delivery for Pegasystems.
Pega is a leading provide of BPM solutions, and a pioneer in enterprise software since the 1980s. Jason is responsible for a complex and large scale cloud infrastructure that supports the Pega Cloud business. Pega is the largest consumer of AWS in the Northeastern United States.
David Block has served as VP of Engineering at Backupify since 2011.
David is a startup junkie: he co-founded and served as the VP of Engineering at two companies (myteam.com (https://app.getsignals.com/link?url=http%3A%2F%2Fmyteam.com%2F&ukey=agxzfnNpZ25hbHNjcnhyGAsSC1VzZXJQcm9maWxlGICAgIDhlJAKDA&k=703c7de4-2a20-42f9-b682-1bce523c3f0d), JAZD Markets) and has been a principal player at others (ChoiceStream, Vertigo) in a variety of technical, product-leadership and management roles. He has over 20 years of industry experience since starting his career as a developer at Lotus Development and receiving his degree in Computer Science from Brown University.
Joe Kinsella is the Founder and CTO of CloudHealth Technologies.
Joe is a high-tech and startup fanatic with 20+ years of experience in delivering commercial software for both startups and large enterprises. In his current role, he is architecting the next generation of IT Service Management for the cloud. Previously, Joe was VP of Engineering at Amazon-backed cloud archiving company Sonian, where he developed and managed large scale cloud infrastructure spanning multiple public clouds. Prior to Sonian he was a managing director at Dell, leading global engineering teams delivering SaaS products. Joe was also VP of Engineering at SilverBack Technologies, where he helped pioneer remote management software, acquired by Dell in 2007.
Aaron C. Newman, Founder and CTO of CloudCheckr Inc.
CloudCheckr specializes in AWS infrastructure optimization, delivering actionable provisioning, purchasing, and configuration recommendations. Aaron is a serial entrepreneur who previously founded three successful startups – Techrigy, DbSecure, and Application Security, Inc. Aaron has authored “Enterprise 2.0”, printed by McGraw-Hill, the “Oracle Security Handbook”, printed by Oracle Press, and 4 patents in database security and social media. He is an acclaimed international speaker on technology topics.
