Agile Talks #15

Details
Hi,
I invite you all to talk again about agile practices. The event will start with a presentation about supporting agile teams in estimates.
The first speaker is Lucia Stoicescu (https://www.linkedin.com/in/luciastoicescu) and she will present "How we support Agile teams in estimates":
We make custom software solutions for niche domains, like telco. Technologies changes, combined with rapid changes in telecom infrastructure require us to meet aggressive timelines, while producing higher-quality software more productively. Integrating customer feedback early through demos and presentations, transparently and adapting to changing requirements became a must in our development processes.
We rarely built the same feature twice, so we had to use comparisons to potentially similar features or use expert judgement whenever we had to build estimates.
We will share best practices in our teams for building estimates, together with useful questions we consider when refining those.
Tips and tricks will be available!
Lucia is a Program Manager and Scrum Master, dedicated to continuous improvement and supporting Agile teams increase their performance.
The second speaker is Adrian Bolboacă (http://blog.adrianbolboaca.ro). He will discuss with you about the importance of learning through practice. The title is "Deliberate practice".

The best practice is better than practice.
Introduction
This will be a presentation about a specific way of learning: practice on purpose with the willingness to learn.
Deliberate practice is a highly structured activity engaged in with the specific goal of improving performance. It is different from work, play and simple repetition of a task. It requires effort, it has no monetary reward, and it is not inherently enjoyable.
The common view held until recently was that expert-level performance was simply the result of talent and “natural abilities.” But scientists believe that expert-level performance is primarily the result of expert-level practice NOT due to innate talent.
So let's have a discussion about how we can practice, formats and methods of practice in the Software Development world. I will touch technical type of practice (for programmers, testers, etc), and also organizational type of practice (managers, Scrum Masters, Team Leaders, Product Owners, etc)
This time, our friends from Computaris (http://www.computaris.com/) are hosting us. We are grateful for their help.
