What do you write?

In the past I have written poetry (published in student papers in[masked]), 3-act plays (performed by a church group[masked]), CBC radio purchased an essay once, and a children's story, essays have been published by academic journals [masked]) such as Education Philosophy and Theory, a few chapters in books [masked]). I think that's about all. Oh, lots of curriculum writing, years of it. Children's stories. I want to play with new poems, perhaps write a new play, maybe write a book on relational consciousness.

What's your favorite subject to write about?

Meaning and experience, relationships, emotions, being, emerging awareness/consciousness, relational consciousness, intention, awareness, presence.

Who is your favorite author?

Alexander McCall Smith, Alberto Villoldo, Martin Heidegger, J.R.R. Tolkien, Mary Webb, John O'Donohue, Alice Hoffman, Elizabeth Goudge. . .Leonard Cohen is the contemporary poet I most appreciate.

If you could meet any dead writer, who would it be?

Heidegger, Tolkien, Webb, Goudge, O'Donohue. . .

What do you hope to achieve in your work?

I want to continue my process of poiesis (self-making through words) and find out what I might yet be capable of sensing, discovering, describing, releasing.

I am a retired professor of literacy and child development, with strong interests in relational consciousness, linguistics, philosophy of language/science, poiesis, as well as learning from people (listening), herbs, trees and sentient stones.
