Mobile sites and WordPress

Two popular things: Mobile Sites & Wordpress - how do we join them?

In this talk, I'll explain the difference between two popular mobile plugins, and I'll show you how to setup your own personal mobile theme so that it doesn't interfere with your regular theme.

It's great - both themes can be custom, and both themes get access to your WordPress post types.

If we have time, I'll do a brief intro on jQuery mobile and explain why you want to use this awesome framework on your mobile site.

We can also have a discussion about the future of different screen sizes and how this relates to a responsive website versus whether responsive sites are preferred to a custom mobile view.

Am a beginner WordPress user so content was over my head but I see great potential in attending these meetings. Good group of people and I expect to learn a lot.

I learned some interesting tips at this meetup, and I connected with people who share similar work interests. I'm happy I went :-)

Doug McLean brought extensive knowledge and a lot of excitement about the topic to the group. I'd listen to him on pretty much anything Wordpress at every oppotunity I had.
