The Carriage House Studio is a new arts cooperative in Washington, DC, located in the Historic Logan Arts Circle District. The studio is located in a historic landmark 1860's carriage house, on two levels.
Everything from photography to dance to theater to graphic art is welcome in the Studio and aims to enrich the lives and art of all who are involved.
The Carriage House Studio offers space and timeslots for a variety of artistic activities, with 2,400 square feet of floor space and extensive private alleyways for outdoor work.
The ground floor offers a full photographic studio with professional lighting, including:
-3x 500W Hensel monolights
-1x 250W Hensel monolight
-softboxes and umbrellas
-a variety of props and accessories
The Studio also features a second level with a complete digital MAC worstation, with Photoshop CS4, iMovie, Garage Band and a 20" Cinemascope monitor, and 24" full size Epson 3800 printer.
The social area can comfortably seat up to 12 for small class, or discussion group gatherings, and features a 60" flat screen TV with an Internet connection, as well as an excellent stereo system with floor standing speakers. Larger groups of 25 or more can be accommodated in the studio area on the lower level.
For dance and music, we have large, uninterrupted rooms of 1,200 square feet of lacquered hardwood as well as a Fender amplifier with 6 channel mixer and CD player. We are also in the process of purchasing large-scale wall mirrors for our dancers.
For social events, the Carriage House Studio also has a complete kitchen, full bath and bedroom area, with linens and weekly cleaning service.
The neighborhood around the Carriage House Studio includes a Giant Food open 24/7, Azi's Cafe, and several bars and restaurants, as well as being just a 10 minute walk from the U St. Corridor.
There is limited private parking directly in front of the studio, as well as in the alley, and on O St. The location is also conveniently just 4 blocks from the Convention Center Metro Stop on the Green Line, or 8 blocks from Metro Center.
