Ciao a tutti,

We have a lot of exciting news this week so I would encourage you to read this week’s update! In addition, I really need your help!

1. Sponsors! – For those of you who haven’t heard yet, we have a new sponsor! The Wine Shop of Charleston on Lockwood Drive is now officially a sponsor of Il Tavolo Italiano and is offering to our card carrying members 10% off of any purchase less than a case and 15% off any purchase that is a case or more! Be sure to stop by, check them out and thank them for becoming a sponsor. Furthermore, we have scheduled our first wine tasting with them that promises to be a great time. Read more and RSVP at . (You can find a full listing of our discounting sponsors at http://iltavoloitalia... .

2. Workshops! – I really need your help in decided what to teach at which location. The fall 2012 class options are now posted as polls at and are ready for you to vote on what you want to see taught where. We are doing it a little different this time so here is a brief explanation;

a. In the past, we posted 5 polls representing the 5 locations we had where we could teach workshops and within each poll you could vote for which classes you would like to see taught there. Those polls served us well but there were two problems with them.

i. One, we couldn’t say much to describe the classes due to the amount of characters we could use in each voting choice and

ii. two we didn’t have enough voting options to show you all of the possible classes that we could have so we have changed the voting format to work like this.

b. When you go to You will see a group of polls that you can vote on, each poll represents one class, for instance there is a poll titled “Where would you like to take Italian Prepositions 1 (NEW CLASS)?” with a description of that class below the title. If this is a class that interests you then open that poll by either clicking on the title of the poll or the word “vote” below the description.

c. Once open, you can vote on which location or locations you would like to see have this particular workshop.

d. It is important to note that there are three pages of polls because there are 13 different classes that you could vote on if you wanted to so you will want to make sure that you look at all three pages so you know you voted on every class that you are interested in. You can see the second and third pages of polls by clicking on “2” and “3” at the bottom of the page or by going to all three links:

i. (page 1 of the polls)

ii. (page 2 of the polls)

iii. (page 3 of the polls)

e. Your vote in these matters really does help shape the direction we take as a group so I really hope you take the time to vote if you are interested in learning Italian. You can do it literally in just a few minutes. Remember, you are what makes this group great!

3. Social Events! Wow! The social events have been seriously through the roof lately, lot’s of fun, still a minority but a growing amount of Italian conversation and attendance has been breaking records and this has been during the summer which is our slowest time of year. For instance we had roughly 43 people attend at Joe and Kathleen’s this past Sunday (and that was with it raining!) and it was a wonderful event. They are great hosts and I believe everybody had a great time. We have some great events coming up. You can find that at http://iltavoloitalia... . For example the next three are;

a. Cena in Italiano – more info and RSVP at

b. Una sera con Mike Aroney – more info and RSVP at

c. Una festa nella piscine … - More info and RSVP at

d. And more found at http://iltavoloitalia... (3 of which are already booked and 2 more aren’t far behind) Events include a pool party, dinners, a wine tasting, cooking classes, an Italian movie and more.

I hope you decide to participate and please remember, if you are at all interested in a language workshop, I need you to vote, please. They will only be left up for about another 7 to 10 days.

Grazie e….
Ciao e spero di verderti presto!
