Meet at Sea Kayak Carolina... carpool and caravan departing the shop promptly at 10:00 a.m..
Arrive at the Cherry Point boat ramp (in Rockville on Wadmalaw Island) approximately 10:45 am.
Launch around 11:00 am.
Ride the ebb towards Deveaux Bank and/or Botany Bay Island. Spend an hour or so beachcombing. Please stay below the high tide line at all times in accordance with SC laws; and good environmental ethics! This is to not disturb nesting birds in this important rookery, and to avoid damaging vegetation and dunes.
Back at Cherry Point boat ramp around 3:00 pm.
This is a Meetup trip... all paddlers are at their own risk and responsible for their own safety. Lifejackets are required to be worn zipped up and properly fitted.
Due to the length and partially exposed nature of the route, sea kayaks with skirts are recommended. Free to paddle with your own kayak. If you wish to reserve a rental kayak, please contact Sea Kayak Carolina at[masked]-7969. Rental kayaks available for Meetup members for only $30.
Check here for more information on this trip, including an interactive map.
