Gilcrease Orchard offers a unique and fun environment where people can go to pick their own produce.
Gilcrease Orchard is located in the north end of Las Vegas.
The orchard spans over 50 acres, with more than 6000 apple, pear and peach trees.
Pick Your Own is the primary way most of the fruit and vegetables are harvested.
This gives Las Vegans and their children the only local opportunity to come be a part of a working farm.
In the summer a variety of vegetables, including tomatoes, pumpkin, cucumber and squash are grown.
There is no any fruit in season yet.
Only vegetables are available to pick:
Kale $2 lb ( bring shears or knife to cut)
Spinach $2 lb (bring shears or knife to cut)
Arugula $2 lb (very nice size)
Bok Choi (small and tender)
Beets $1 lb (small to medium)
Carrots $1 lb (very nice size)
Snap Peas $1 lb (many now)
The following are available at the checkout stand:
Asparagus $2 per bunch
Garlic scapes $1 per bunch
Green onions $1 per bunch
1/2 gallon apple cider - $4 each
pints of apple cider- $2 each
