On the Free Choice of the Will, Saint Augustine: BOOK 3

Book 3 is more dense than the others. My instinct is: instead of trying to recap arguments that probably require many years of study, it might be better to just talk about god and free will the best we know how...and see where augustine finds his way in to the conversation. ~Shrugs~

Yeah, a little into book 3 it stops being a dialogue and just becomes a long speech. I think it remained fairly clear, anyway, even though it wasn't helped by E's questions. I'd really like to go over how the problem of how God's foreknowledge is made commensurable with human freedom.

Me too. Maybe we can read portions of text too.

Sounds like a good plan. I have not gone through much of book 3 as I have started to read the first 80 pages of Critique of Pure Reason for next week.

But I'm going to make it to this session unless traffic is insanely bad in the afternoon. Took me 35 min just to get from the 53 junction on I90 to the Euclid exit this morning. Flooding. Accidents. Fire. Brimstone. Cats and dogs living together. Mass hysteria. It was quite a mess. ...maybe I should rent a surplus amphibious vehicle ?

I'm sorry. Most probably I won't be able to attend. It looks like I'll work until late next Wednesday :(

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
