September Prototype & Play

  • September 27, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • TechDEC @ The Metro Data Center

Come one, come all - video game players and developers alike - for a night of fun. We will be playing games that are finished, half-baked, and even some commercial games, then discuss what we liked, what we don't like, why it worked, and what we would change. Food and drink will be provided!

I enjoyed playing around with everyone's prototypes. There are some great projects out there! Hopefully Kevin and I will have Corsair a bit more playable in the coming months.
Good luck to everyone on finishing their projects. :)

It was great seeing all the games people were working on, and it was wonderful that so many people came out just to play some games.

I have a prototype. May I bring it? Catch the moon is an educational mini ame to teach that the moon moves in a cyclical pattern.

    • Todd B.

      Sure, bring it!

Hi Todd - I'm not going to make it after all - I had an unexpected out of town guest.

I don't have a developed game to bring, but is there anything I can bring supply-wise that would help?

My son would like to interview a video game reporter and ask him/her about what they do during their working days, and other questions like that for a middle school project. Are there people in Columbus who could talk with him about this on Friday, September 27 - possibly before the Prototype and Play event or online during that day? Thanks!

    September 25, 2013

    • Seth P.

Sure thing - I'll be there around 6:30 and can give him some contacts to talk to

Is it cool if I bring a board game prototype? Deathmatch 3D is a flick-based board game adaptation of a computer first-person shooter, and it's in playable condition (though of course still a WIP!) I am working on more advanced features but would love to get some responses on the basic game so far.

Absolutely! I am bringing a board game and I believe other people are too

Will there be systems available at the event, or should I try to bring a system of my own? The game I would like to show is for PC.

    September 20, 2013

    • Todd B.

Your best bet is to bring your own system. While some people will probably have a system you can borrow, you'll run into fewer problems if you bring your own.
