What made you learn American Sign Language?

I was talking to my boss and he was two feet or so in front of me and for several seconds I did not hear anything. that same day i started thinking i should start learning ASL just in case.

What is your experience thus far with ASL?

I have tried to take a class and I was learning so fast she thought I was a interpreter and left to go teach basket weaving. There were a few people of the deaf community I have surprise knowing just enough ASL to have a basic conversion with.

Introduction

my mane is mike i am i former solder, in the past 10 years or so i have lost quite a bit of my hearing may be about 50% of my hearing in one ear and 40% in the other. All the ASL i have learned is from books, movies, and the internet.
