Hello everyone and thank you for being part of our amazing group It's my pleasure to bring you anther weekly newsletter. In this newsletter I'm going to be talking about upcoming meet ups, our recently cleaned up forums, more event hosts and donations.
Ok first up is upcoming meet ups.
On the 15th we will be having our monthly meet up at a restaurant. This month we have Italian cuisine planned at Bambino's Bar and Grill. This is a great place to meet the members and eat some great friends.
On the 22nd I am planning a meet up at Memorial park and this is the first meet up of its kind this year, and its looking to turn out well as there are already 15+ people going and I'm exited about that. It’s a great place to meet the members of the group with out the hassle of worrying about any costs although I am asking that if you can to bring something for the meeting such as chips, drinks, side, hotdogs or burgers but it's not required. The Colorado Springs Melee Group is also having a gathering at the park. They are a bunch of cool people who fight with foam melee weapons', it's a lot of fun.
On the 29th is our monthly viewing. We host it at Matt's house and he's a cool guy. He has a pretty good collection of anime DVD's and figures. There's generally something of everything going on at this meet up whether its playing pool, darts, talking or watching anime there's always something interesting happing.
Ronnie is asking that more people give the anime group a review. You can do that here.
We are looking for more event hosts so if you are able to host an event and are willing to host events on a regular basis please talk to Ronnie, Matt or myself (Lester) and we can make you an Event Organizer. The meet ups don't have to accommodate for a lot of people, they can have a small attendance cap if your meet up in mind can't hold many people. Rick use to host a viewing at his apartment with a attendance cap of 8 people and I've heard that he may start doing that again.
I recently went and cleaned up the forums quite a bit. There where multiple threads of the same topic so, I merged them into one topic and got rid of the duplicate threads. So if you haven't checked out the forums now is the best time to do so. Also there are some polls up as well that we would like some feedback on so if you could answer those questions that would awesome!!
NDK is only 3 months away and will sneak up on us fast so I recommend saving up for it. NDK has announced who their guests are going to be this year for the autographs so I if you're curious as to who is going to be a guest this year check out the guest section of NDK's website.
Now for the part everyone likes the most. The reviews!!
First up I recently Watched Xamd: Lost Memories and it was ok. It is an action Sci-fi type of anime and the main character is a boy named Akiyuki who gets into an accident that causes his arm to get a mysterious orb to get put into his arm and gets turned into a Xamd. Xamd are powerful beings that be consumed by rock if they lose themselves. A girl named Nakiami saves him from turning into a statue and she takes him back to their air ship. Akiyuki must learn to control this new power or risk turning into a crystallized statue.
The other anime that I'm going to review is an older series but sometime older series are better. Dot hack //sign is a great futuristic Sci-fi virtual reality adventure anime. Its about a character named Tsukasa. He awakens in The WORLD and he doesn't remember how he got there and whats worse is he can't log out. He wanders around aimless at first trying to figure out how he got there and makes several new friends and later finds out that he has a strange power that protects him but can cause devastating things to people outside of the game, putting them into Acoma. Tsukasa later learns that his player data was affected by a virus and uses his power to help cleanse the game of the virus that is affecting people and putting them into Acoma.
