RIDER SKILLSET FOR THIS RIDE: Intermediate rider and above
skillsets: Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced

All,

Tom Harbour will not be able to go on the trip so I will be hosting it. The ride is two weeks away!!

Here are a few links of what to pack for the trip. One is a list Bruce put in the files section: Bruce's list (http://files.meetup.com/1439635/Bike%20Trip%20List.pdf) and here is the discussion thread from last years Smokies trip. Discussion thread (https://www.meetup.com/The-Columbus-Motorcycle-Riders-Meetup-Group/messages/boards/thread/21294892).

I would also like to make a list of everyones phone number and share the list with everyone going on the trip. It is a good idea to have everyones phone number and an accurate list of who is going. So, please email me with your name, co rider and your phone number. If you have friends riding too, I would like their information also. I will send the list out to everyone that is going on the trip as soon as it is complete. My email address: bikerbabe043 at yahoo.com (bikerbabe043@yahoo.com). AS OF TODAY, I AM MISSING TWO RIDERS PHONE NUMBERS. IF YOU HAVE NOT EMAILED ME YOUR PHONE NUMBERS, PLEASE DO SO ASAP SO I CAN SEND THE LIST TO EVERYONE ON THE RIDE. *IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SHARE YOUR NUMBER, EMAIL ME AND LET ME KNOW.

Use the comment thread below to address concerns or email me. I want everyone to be on the same page so we will have a fun, safe trip!!

PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL FORM, FILL IT OUT AND PLACE ON YOUR MOTORCYCLE EM FORM (http://files.meetup.com/1439635/MedicalInfoForm.rtf)

This ride will be 295 miles. The route has been modified to stay off of the interstate. We will be taking RT 62, RT 68. Google maps says 6 hours, 19 minutes. With lunch and breaks I think adding two hours is a good guess. It looks like we will have 13 bikes, and we will stay in one group. To keep the travel time at a minimum, please be considerate of others and have a sense of how much time you are taking at breaks; have a small sense of urgency, (have to keep moving) when we stop. If we take 30 minute breaks, we will never get there in one day!

Be ready to ride at 8:00 am. Arrive early if you plan on having breakfast.

HELMET LAW KY has a restricted Helmet Law, under 21 and for newer riders. Click on the link to read more about the helmet law. KY Helmet Law (http://www.fastfreds.com/helmetlawmap/ky-helmet-law.htm)

We will be staying at the Super 8 Motel, (http://www.super8.com/hotels/kentucky/cave-city/super-8-cave-city/hotel-overview) 799 Mammoth Cave St., Cave City, KY. Phone 1- 270- 773- 2500. They have very nice rooms, Internet, microwave, free breakfast, swimming pool, etc. The rates can't be beat. They have rooms right now, but remember this is a tourist area, so book your room early.

*** If you book your room calling the number above, the price is a little more than booking online with a 24 hour cancellation option.

*** If you book your room online, it is cheaper rate but.... NO REFUNDS.

The rooms aren't blocked, so tell them you want a room close to one of us that has already booked. We can be close to each other this way.
