Do you want to become a better public speaker? Do you want to gain confidence and the courage to lead? You have come to the right place! The Contrarians Toastmasters club offers a fun and supportive environment to develop your speaking and leadership skills.
However, we are no ordinary Toastmasters club. The Contrarians motto is "No Topic is Taboo" and we encourage everyone to speak about sex, politics, religion or whatever else is on your mind. As you can see from our meeting themes, we do not shy away from 'controversial' topics.
It is free to join this Meetup group, and you are welcome to attend any of our meetings. If you decide to formally join our club, please consider making a commitment to yourself and the club to be an active club member for at least one year so that you may truly grow from the Toastmasters experience. While we have a lot of fun, we also pride ourselves on our commitment to the Toastmasters program. The fee to join both Toastmasters International and our club is only $54 for each 6 month period, and the payback on this investment in yourself is tremendous. Click here for the membership application.
We meet every Wednesday from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at Northwood Community Center 4531 Bryan Avenue, Irvine CA 92620. Please do try to show up by 6:30 p.m. There may be a few rare occasions when the time may change, so please refer to our schedule on the main meetup page for exact times of each meeting. There is plenty of free parking at the entrance of the center and overflow parking in the parking lot on Yale if needed. Click here to find us!
Read a Snapshot summary of our past meetings at: www.tmcontrarians.com. Click on 'Meeting Snapshot Archives' at the bottom of the page for older meetings.

"I haven't seen the same level of authenticity and character of this club at other clubs."
I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
