Do you enjoy live music? Do you like artist like Lauryn Hill, Bilal, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Raphael Saadiq, Sade, John Legend, Jamiroquai, Me'Shell NdegéOcello, Dwele, Soulquarians, Eric Robinson, Anthony Hamilton, Raheem Devaughn, Cee Low, Afro-beat bands? This may be the group for you. Of course, an appreciation of classic artist that paved the way like Donnie Hathaway, James Brown, Prince, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations etc. is fundamental :-) We understand that neo-soul music is a lifestyle and the elements touches all genres. It's more than music: It's consciousness- love, hurt, community, etc. Although we will meet-up for live music and concerts, we are an artistic group with various meetups. As far as music, we are not an R&B group, although we may support some R&B acts. If you know of an event that you think would be of interest, please let us know so that we can add it to the calendar.  P.S.  We periodically perform an "activity audit."  We ask that all of our members show up, comment, or participate in some way! Inactive members will be periodically removed (however, you can still remain on the email list or email the organizers when you have more time to participate).  We appreciate the support; but, to avoid a common downfall of meetup groups (too many members, but not enough active members), we would rather have a core group of active members than a large number. We want the group to be sustainable. Our ideal number is less than 100 members; however, we are open to more so long as the group is active. We expect most members to RSVP and participate in at least one event every three months or so. While there is no set formula for inactivity, several RSVP's resulting in no-shows, inactivity, or no future activity may result in removal. (Of course, there are situations that we understand e.g., moving to Denver in the future, gone for work etc).

Our process is simple:

1. We post several events. We mainly post events for neo-soul artist, but we add artistic events too. We will feature the key events. If there is an event you think the group would like, send it to an organizer and if it's within the scope of the group, we will post it.
2. If you are interested in the event, RSVP. Whoever suggested the meetup can plan the logistics. (We ask that you be prepared to help organize if you want the meetup; however, feel free to let us know about events that you think we would be interested in knowing too.   We will not send out an email blast unless there are five people interested (unless it is obvious that 5 people will be interested). 
3. Assigned Seating. If it is an event that requires assigned seating, we encourage you to purchase your ticket and let everyone know which section you are sitting.  We will try to get tickets in similar sections. If you want to purchase a better section (or cheaper), or that section isn't available, let the group know what new section you have purchased your seats. If available, we will create a link so members can purchase tickets in the same area. We will have a pre or post meetup depending on the time of the assigned seating event.
4. Open Seating. The same process applies for open seating, the details will be worked out by the event organizer listed and the group.
5. Have fun, be social, stay active!
