Preconception Health Series (6 classes over 3 months)

There will be 6 classes within this 3 month long focus on Pre conception Health for those individuals and/or couples interested in starting or increasing their family. Each meeting will start off with group discussion to share what good things are happening for those that want to share, opportunity to ask questions, make connections with other participants, etc.

Please note the series is $120/person or $150 for a couple.
Meeting 1: Thursday, July 11th from 6:30-8:00 pm
•Introduction and explanation of the Juice/Smoothie Detox Program for participants (that are currently not breastfeeding) to complete for either 7-10 days.
•The Detox to be started after this class and completed prior to the next meeting
•Discuss nutrition in depth for families to be along with key markers that impact pregnancy
•The nutritional impacts of parents to be on baby before conception, during pregnancy and post partum/beyond
•Discuss the importance of mom's digestive tract
•Handouts, smoothie and juice recipes will be provided.
Meeting 2: Thursday, July 25th from 6:30-8:00 pm
•Detox completed, slow reintroduction of foods (remain off of wheat, dairy, corn and a few others for a longer period of time)
•Discuss feeling and experiences during the detox, etc
•Discuss the elimination diet and how certain foods can cause inflammation in certain bodies, etc.
•Discuss the difference between different types of vitamins (synthetic, whole food based, whole food nutrition), the importance of whole food nutrition along with Juice Plus+
•Discuss exercise and possible exercise options
•Recommend and discuss the value and importance of a blood draw (1-2 weeks after the detox is complete)
•Handouts and recipes will be provided for some meal planning ideas.
Meeting 3: Thursday, August 8th from 6:30-8:00 pm
•Discuss supplementation and nutritional options so those that did the blood draw have some information on how to "build up the body".
•Food Rotation
•Start discussing the mental and emotional aspects of pregnancy and parenting
•Handouts provided and possibly a food demonstration
Meeting 4: Thursday, August 22nd from 6:30-8:00 pm
•Complete a Life Balance exercise to create awareness of where focus is needed to create more overall balance
•Discuss how to overcome fears, become confident with beliefs, discover what you want for you and your family.
•Handouts provided and possibly a food demonstration
Meeting 5: Thursday, September 5th from 6:30-8:00 pm
•Teach techniques to overcoming fears, blocks, stress
•Handouts, recipes, etc.
Meeting 6: Thursday, September 12th from 6:30-8:00 pm
•Discuss natural remedies for illness and prevention
•Holistic prenatal and pediatric care guest speaker
